Odisha, formerly known as Orissa, is an Indian state on the subcontinent's south-east coast, by the Bay of Bengal. It is the contemporary name of the ancient kingdom of Kalinga, which was invaded by the Mauryan Emperor Ashoka in 261 BC. It is also named as Utkal which is mentioned in the national anthem of India.
Bhubaneswar is the capital of Odisha, and home to nearly a thousand temples. Cuttack, the former capital of Odisha, is 22 km from Bhubaneswar. With the rapid expansion of two cities and better road connectivity, the two cities are now almost conjoined and considered as twin cities. The city of Puri is about 60 kilometers from Bhubaneswar and lies on the coast of the Bay of Bengal. Puri is considered a holy city and the abode of the deity Lord Jagannath. It is one of the Char Dham (Four holy places) of Hinduism. The world-famous "Car Festival" (Rath Yatra) is celebrated every year in the Hindu month of Ashadha (Mid June to Mid July) in Puri.

Festivals of Odisha - Kalinga Mahotsava





Dhauli Kalinga Mahotsav or the National Festival of Martial Dance is celebrated in the month of January to mark the victory of peace over war. The Kalinga Mahotsav enlightens the Buddhist philosophy Dharma & Ahimsha. Live performances of the various martial dance forms that are a part of India's diverse folk culture at Dhauli hill. Some of the remarkable martial dance performances like Chhau and Paika dance can be seen in Kalinga Mahotsav.

Pradhanpat Water Fall

The Pradhanpat Water Fall is belonged from Pradhanpat Hill is a picturesque waterfall which is surrounded by some of the rarest scenic sights of nature which makes it one of the most beautiful waterfalls of Orissa.

With rolling hill and green woods creating the backdrop, the Pradhanpat Water Fall cascades down like a stream of colors. A treat for the eyes, the Pradhanpat Water Fall is one of the greatest treasures of nature. There are two guest houses near the Pradhanpat Water Fall, the Basanta Nivas and Lalita Basanta and they are the perfect places from where the beauty and charm of the Pradhanpat Falls can be enjoyed most intimately.

Winter is the best time to visit this spot. Many people choose this spot for picnic. Pradhanpat waterfall is well blessed by nature.

Daringibadi - The Kashmir of Odisha

Daringi Badi is a hill station in the State of Odisha. Nature has created this place so beautifully that everybody wants to have its hill side view explore the wild life sanctuary. It is situated in the district of Kandhamal in the state of Odisha.The place is gifted with natural beauties such as pine jungles, coffee, black pepper, turmeric gardens, beautiful valleys and plateaus.

It is the only place in Odisha where we can see the snow fall in the winter. A wooden bungalow at Belghar attracts many nature loving visitors.
You also know about the tribal people who are hard very hardworking in the field of agriculture.There are two Coffee & black pepper plantations maintained by siol conservation/forest department Daringibadi area which are an ideal place to explore and picnic.

Similipal - Heaven of Odisha Tourism

Simlipal Tiger Reserve

Scenic Similipal, one of the important tiger reserve and National park in India which brings glory for the wild life of Odisha and Odisha Tourism. The park has extensive grassy fields comprising of thick and green forest.
The crocodile rearing center at Ramatirtha (According to Epic Ramayan the Lord Ramchandra has visited here with his brother and wife at the time of Banabas) near Jashipur is another attraction of the Park.
The best season is November to June.The best time to visit is April to May.
